The ship it sails along the sea,
the water it runs deep.
The sailor sits down and stares into the water,
and from his eyes, he starts to weep.

He says "why, why, why
must love be both pleasure and pain."
He just can't help but cry,
and his tears fall down like rain

Burning all the letters and the notes
Burning his sails
Setting fire to his boat,
just he and a tankard of ale

So with nothing left,
he's got nothing to lose.
All he's got left is what he is wearing
Just bad memories and a barrel of booze,
drunk and miserable, in the past he is dwelling.

So he sits and thinks about what he could've changed,
which just leaves him grieving.
He thought she was here this time to stay,
but no, she was only leaving.

The ocean seems to go on and on
In the distance he saw a dock,
but his sails were gone.
He tried and tried, but couldn't stop his ship from crashing on the rocks.
